Maggie has no shortage of plans for her life, and they all sort of work out in the end, if via a circuitous route! Single and independent, she desperately wants a baby, but without the entanglements of a relationship. She decides on artificial insemination, and a friend of hers, who just happens to be a brilliant mathematician, may well oblige. However, before any of this can happen, Maggie meets and falls in love with John, a frustrated author, married to redoubtable academic Georgette. The years pass and Maggie has the child she has always wanted ( by the conventional method), but has already tired of John! Can she devise yet another plan that will get John and Georgette back together? A delightful comedy of manners, with nods to Woody Allen and Richard Linklater, boasting literate dialogue, engagingly odd-ball characters and no lack of hilarious moments.
