Dir: Yann Gozlan
Starring: Pierre Niney, Ana Girardot, André Marcon
Would-be author Mathieu, frustrated by the fact that his début novel has been repeatedly rejected by publishers, makes ends meet by working for a house clearance company. On clearing the home of a recently deceased man he comes across a manuscript recounting the man’s experiences as a young French conscript in the Algerian War of Independence. Impressed by the quality of the writing, Mathieu decides to pass the work off as his own novel. It is accepted by a publisher and highly praised by critics. Mathieu is an instant success and soon the darling of the Parisian literati! He is living the life he always desired, but this shortcut to fame comes with a price and Mathieu finds himself taking increasingly extreme measures to maintain the deceit.
An exciting, tense thriller that will keep you in suspense.
